Special Halloween Costumes for Special Kids

Here are some great examples of how you can do a small thing to help a child feel “normal” like other kids.  This is a video about Magic Wheelchair that was started by Oregon-based dad Ryan Weimer early this year.  He always loved making his kids costumes.  But three of his kids have Spinal Muscular Atrophy and use wheelchairs, which made it an added challenge.  This year 8 kids will receive their dream Halloween costume.  It makes the kids seem like superstars to their friends and others instead of outcasts.  They wow everyone who sees their amazing costumes.  For special kids to get a chance to be selected to have their own dream costume they have to submit a video telling of the idea to MagicWheelchair.org.  Weimers says, “It’s not a cure.. it’s a cure for a day”.  ”It helps them forget. It helps other people see them as a kid and not just a kid in a wheelchair.”  What an awesome person to do this for these little ones.  Just think how you could help others this way.  Maybe not as exciting or elaborate as these but in a small way to make someone feel accepted as one of the crowd.  Thanks to this great organization.  We wish them much joy in giving.

Have a GREAT day…by making it a great day for someone else!!!
