Memorial Day Tribute

On this day we need to stop offer a tribute and remember all of those who gave their lives for us to have our freedom.  This video is a little longer than most that we post but the message is so powerful.  Take the time to watch.  It will touch your heart.  So many of us just can’t even understand the pain that the families of these lost soldiers know.  What we can do is take time to thank a soldier when you see them while you still can.  Walking through the airport, the mall or just on the street.  Stop them.  Shake their hands and tell them just how much their service means to not only you but to this country.  I am so proud when I hear of people who give up their seat in first class for a soldier going home. Or even to just acknowledge them on a flight.  Remember they chose to do this service.  There is no longer a draft that took our young men without their choice to serve.  These people made the choice and we should thank them.  Enjoy your holiday but remember who it is really for…. Our Heroes.

How Important You Are- A Mom’s Story

Moms are very busy.  Sometimes they forget just how much they do for everyone. This mom is a businesswoman and a full time mom. In this video she learns just what she means to the family.  This was a commercial but yet a great story that every mom could put herself in.  Kraft Peanut Butter approached this family to use as an example for almost every family.  The kids made drawings and an author helped them write a book.  Kraft asked Deborah to be there for a book reading.  She was reading the book to an audience.  All of a sudden she turns a page and sees that the story is about her.  I dare you not to find yourself this in this story in one way or another.  Thank you Kraft for reminding us that we all have a place in the story and what we do in life tells the story we want to tell.  Be present in your story no matter how hard or how wonderful.  A new chapter is ready to be written and what you do today will form that chapter.  Take the time to enjoy the story and share that story with everyone.

Alumni makes a touchdown

WWII Veteran and Kansas football’s alumni Bryan Sperry who, at 89-years old, makes scoring a touchdown one of the greatest accomplishments we’ve seen. Brian Sperry proved he still has the moves when he returned to the University of Kansas, where he played college football in his teens, and scored a touchdown in an alumni scrimmage game. Just watch the joy on his face and the other teammates when he scores the winning touchdown.  He said he has not run like that for years.  It was a dream of his to return to the gridiron.  He actually played for KU after returning from war.  Many people just enjoyed watching him run down that field.  It just goes to show that you are never too old to live out your dreams.  What an inspiration.

A Puppy’s Best Friend

Here is a great video for all you pet lovers.  You don’t even have to like dogs to like this video.  Many people will tell you that sometimes the main reason a pet is taken to the pound is because of the arrival of a baby in the house.  This video will show you how babies and puppies can grow up together. It is so sweet watching the baby and the dog interact.   How sweet to watch the little one playing with the puppy and to watch the puppy playing with the baby but yet being so careful. As you watch you see the baby grow and the puppy too.  This video reminds us that there is room in the family for a dog and a baby.  Watch this video as the baby grows up and the puppy is always there to take care of the baby. Love animal videos and I love baby videos.  What could be better puppies and babies.

911 call by 6 year old

When 6-year-old Madison found her mother Jovanna Nunez unconscious in their Hemet, California, home on Saturday, she told 911: “My mom froze and … I don’t know what happened.”  Madison not knowing how to help her mom she called 911.  She tells 911 that she was drawing her mom a picture when she just froze.  She also told the dispatcher that there were no other adults at home.  The displatcher comforts the little girl and tells her that help is on the way. She asks her to go open the door and wait for the paramedics.  This is an audio recording of part of the conversation.  It stops before Madison tells the dispatcher she’s sitting outside the house on a rocking chair and even describes the pajamas she is wearing. The dispatcher promises that crews are on their way and tells Madison she’s doing a good job. As sirens are heard getting closer, Madison’s tone seems to turn from nervous to relieved. She excitedly reports that crews are here as the dispatcher tells her to stay calm, keep the phone with her and take the responders in the house. Nunez said when she woke up, there were EMTs surrounding her bed.”The little girl maintained her composure” the whole time, the fire department said in a statement. This mother did a great job preparing her daughter for this by teaching her to call 911.  Use this reminder to teach your little ones how to call 911 in an emergency.

What a Father Will Do For His Daughter

Here is a fun video today for those fathers who will do anything for their little girls.  This Dad was asked by his daughter to do a dance routine for her Bat Mitzvah. This happened a few years ago. This Dad had been known to do things like this for his little girl.  If you check out his You Tube channel you will find several videos like this.  This is what we need more of.  A Dad who is not afraid to look foolish for his little girl.  You can just imagine how much time he had to spend with this little girl practicing for this event.  That is the important part.  Spending time with your kids while they are young.  Jessica will never forget the time she and her Dad spent together planning and working for these events.  Time spent with his little girl is invaluable.  What a great dad.  The kids grow up too quickly.  Take the time to enjoy their childhood. You will never regret this time in their lives.

How a Blind Mom Sees Her Unborn Baby

Here is another story that is not exactly news but it is a great story.  It is  the story of Tatiana who is a mother that is waiting on the birth of her child.  Huggies diapers created this commercial to tell her story.  Tatiana is a mother like many soon to be moms.  She is looking forward to the birth of her chilld.  She has everything ready and is just waiting for Murilo to come into the world.  The big difference here is that Tatiana is BLIND.  She will never see her baby so her doctor did her sonogram and then uses a 3D printer to create an image that she can touch to “SEE” her baby.  He first describes the baby to her.  We wonder why he is he is describing the baby and why the mother is not looking at the monitor.  Then we figure it out.  What a wonderful gift for this woman to expereience to be able to see her baby before it is born. What a great idea.  Thank you to Huggies for sharing this touching video.

Happy Mother’s Day

Due to an amazing story of a mom getting rescued on Friday we moved our Mother’s Day story to today.  I hope you all had a great day with Mom and I hope you will enjoy this message because everyday should be Mother’s Day.  Don’t let any day go by where you don’t tell someone whether it be your mom or your dad or just anyone just how much they mean to you.  Life is short and time goes by so fast.  If you wait it could be too late.

Tissue Alert… This one will touch your heart. I know this is a Telefloral commercial but it is much much more.  This is such a touching message for all mothers out there.  I dare you not to be emotional as you watch this message created by a son for his mother. This is an amazing video. Please take a few minutes to watch this great video.  After the video … call someone you care about and say “I Love You”.  You will be glad you did.

Dancing with their Daddy

Charlie has a brain tumor.  He will not recover from this but what he will do is live while he can.  When Charlie Kwentus stopped fighting his brain tumor, he decided to make the most out of the life he has left, especially with his two daughters. After hearing that there was not much more they could do for Charlie, he and  his family decided to take a three week vacation to make memories.  During their trip they started thinking about the facts that he would not be there for graduations, proms or weddings a non-profit called Annie’s Hope stepped in.  Marion and Zoe are getting all made up at a salon and dressed up to take a limo ride stopping for photos and then to restuarant for dinner and dancing.  These memories will stay with them forever.    For one night they had a night that they would never forget.  Thanks to Annie’s Hope to bring this night to this family.  Their lives will never be the same thanks to you and your organization.
