Woman donates kidney and gets much more

Danny Robinson was in desperate need for a kidney.  He had been on dialysis for two years 3 days a week for 4 hours a day .  He wanted a normal life.  Danny and his mom went on a radio show talking about needing a kidney.  His mom said she was not well to donate her kidney.  Ashley McIntyre was a stranger who heard the report and knew that she was the same blood type.  She thought that she was healthy and could give him a kidney if they were a match.  So before she would let him  know she made sure she was a match.  They met after she found out that she was a match.  They spent time together before the surgery and kept in touch after. She just wanted to make sure he was ok.  As time went by they grew closer and closer.  At Christmas Danny gave her a ring and asked her to marry him.  She said yes and now Danny got so much more than a gift from a stranger.  He got a new life with the woman of his dreams.  They are planning their wedding and also the birth of their child in June.  Congratualations to Danny And Ashley. We wish you happiness and health.

Son lives after Mom’s Prayer

I believe prayer works.  And after this story you will believe it too.  This is a story about an 8th grader named John Smith. It seems that John and two friends decided to try to walk on thin ice.  John fell through the ice and was there for over 15 minutes before being rescued by the local fire department.  The rescue team had just practiced ice rescue the week before.  Now here they were to pull John out.  They tried to revive him but nothing was working.  They tried CPR for 27 minutes with no results.  The doctor brought John’s mother into the room to tell her what was happening.  His mom immediately began praying for God to step in now and to save her son.  Almost immediately the doctor team began to get a pulse. Something that a few minutes ago was a tragedy now had hope.  The doctors were amazed but still unsure if  his mind would still be there.  Unbelievably he is not only surviving but he is thriving.  He is getting stronger everyday and if you ask anyone it is a miracle brought on by his mother’s prayer.  Do you believe in prayer?  This story will help you to see that prayer does work.

Making the best of a bad situation

Have you ever just had “one of those days”?  One of those days where nothing goes right.  This is the kind of day metorologist Cory McCloskey was expecting to have just the normal kind of broadcast.  As he looks at his board of temperatures in the Phoenix area he sees that somehow, some way the temps are mostly wrong.  What an awkward situation.  What to do ?  Do you apolgize and move on OR just go with the flow?  I love how this broadcaster just acts like everything is ok and makes a funny story of the outragious temperatures.  What would you have done?  Could you think fast on your feet and come up with those great stories?  His fellow broadcasters just sat there and enjoyed the stories he was saying.  Great job Cory.  That is the way to turn a lemon into lemonade.  I really admire you for not panicing and turning the weather into a fun time.  Many have enjoyed watching this already.  Share it with your friends and enjoy his quick wit.

Grandma Saves the Day

Rosemary was working at the customer service desk at Target when she heard a commotion going on outside.  She went out to investigate and found a van on fire. That is when this grandma of 5 went into action.  She notice the driver doors opening while the van was on fire.  He was not getting out. She knew that she needed to do somthing. She ran to the van and began pulling the disabled man out.  He was stuck but she didn’t give up.  Even when his jacket caught on fire she just kept pulling.  She was able to get him out of the van before it was too late.  If it hadn’t been for her he would not have survived this fire.  Rosemary ran in to help without concern for herself.  After it was all over she noticed that even though she has ailments that would keep her from doing this she was able to help.  She got him out without one burn or cut to herself.  She believes that this truly was deivne intervention.  she is a hero in the eyes of the other witnesses and in our eyes too.  Way to go Rosemary.

Twins Separated at Birth Reunited on Facebook

Samantha Futerman who lives in Los Angeles woke up one morning to a Facebook post from someone who said they saw her on You Tube. The messenger said that she looks a lot like her and after doing some research discovered that they were both born in town (Busan, South Korea) and on the same day.  After learning they were both adopted Anais, a French fashion Designer agreed to meet on Skype.  Once they saw each other it was clear that they were not only sisters but twin sisters that had been separated at birth.  They chatted for over three hours and agreed to meet.  They met in London and then again in LA.  They decided to be certain they would do a DNA test.  As expected their DNA matched.  Samantha admited to her sister that when she was little she had an imaginary friend she called Anne.  They even took a trip together back to Korea.  How amazing that these two could be worlds apart but find each other on social media and reconnect via Facebook.  Now after being apart for 30 years they have one thing for sure.  They have an entire future to spend together.  They have now createda full-length documentary to share their touching story of being separated at birth, abandoned, adopted and later reunited.  If you are interested in their story you can check out their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/twinstersmovie

Breakthough for Alzheimer’s Patients

This video is a little longer than most of our videos but you need to watch all the way to end.  Many of us have some family or friends that have been affected by Alzheimers in some way.  It is very hard to watch our loved ones leave us while they are still here when they are touched by this horrible disease.  It is very hard to watch but at the end of the video you see a breakthough she has with this patient who has been stricken since 2000 and is now vertually unable to speak.  This video shows Naomi Feil, founder of Validation Therapy, as she shares a breakthrough moment of communication with Gladys Wilson, a woman who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2000 and is virtually non-verbal. It is something that doesn’t happen everytime she visits one of these patients but it is something that she has experienced.  She describes what you need to do to help them when they cannot communicate to you.  It is amazing what you can do with love and patience. Her organization has more information on their website at www.memorybridge.org.  Thank you to Patricia M for sharing this story with us.

Fisherman Gives Eagle a Fighting Chance

Back in September it was reported that a fisherman was noticed something in the water coming his way.  As it got closer he could see that it was a young eagle who was “swimming” towards his boat.  He moved closer to help the bird.  As he got the bird in the boat he could see that it was not well and called for help.  They took the ill bird to the Owl Rescue Center.  We don’t know why the eagle was swimming.  They guess that he might have caught a fish that was too large and that the fish may have pulled him under and his wings got too wet to fly.  This bird was lucky that the fisherman came along as there was not land for him to swim to.  Way to go fisherman.  It was great that you were there to help this creature.  Isn’t it wonderful that the fisherman was there to rescue this bird and allow it to grow up to become a beautiful bald eagle.

Christmas Miracle – Found after 55 years

In 1959, when Joyce Wharton was a young girl, her mother and father boarded a plane bound for Seattle. Then they, along with the pilot, were never heard from again. The family lived with unanswered questions until wreckage of the plane was found 15 years later, deep in the woods of Washington state. With resolution long since attained, Wharton got a life-affirming phone call this week from a logger who’d been trying to reach her for years. He’d found something he wanted Wharton to have.

Her mother’s wedding ring. “To me, it’s my Christmas miracle,” Wharton told WABC-TV. “And I look at the ring, and I think about my mother. It’s like reaching back in time.” Nick Buchanan happened upon the ring near the crash site and, with his nephew’s help, used Ancestry.com to track down Wharton, WABC reported. Soon, her mother’s still-sparkling ring was making the 3,000-mile journey from Centralia, Washington, to Wayne, New Jersey. “My mouth was open,” she told the station. “I couldn’t believe what I was hearing…it restores your faith in human nature, because there’s so many bad things happening. And yet there are good people out there, kind people. People persevere.” What a wonderful gift this man gave to Joyce.  Not the value of the ring but the memory of her mother.  Way to go Nick you are our hero.
