An Unexpectant Visit for a Father

Going through a difficult time like a serious illness is hard enough when you are surrounded by your families but even harder when your family is far away.  This is one of those videos that really touch your heart.  This father is having a serious life threatening cancer surgery in only a few days.  He thinks his son is in the Philippines speaking to him on the phone.  But Surprise!  Here he comes his son … Standing behind him in the same room.Family is what we need to get us through these types of difficult situations.  This story is from last year and the update is that the Dad overcame the surgery, went cancer free for a year, now is fighting again with success. Best wishes to this family and use the strength of your family to get through it all.

So God Made A Dog

Those of you who have dogs will really understand and love this video.  Those of you who don’t have a dog may be able to understand the crazyness of people who love them.  These animals come into our lives usually as a cute puppy as a gift for a child.  Sometimes they are adopted older and just join the family.  You can’t figure out why you added them to your family and then before you know it you can’t figure out how you go on without them in your family.  This is just a beautiful poem with pictures that really portay the fellings you get when you have a dog in the family.  This tells us the things we already know  and somethings we don’t.  It reminds us of the loyalty of those friends we call dogs.  Take a moment and just enjoy this short video poem.  Share this those who love dogs, those who don’t and especially those who need to understand dogs.  It is one of the best descriptions I have ever seen for these furry members of our family members.  There is no better companion, friend, family and partner than a faithful dog.  Those that have never had one cannot understand the connection between a dog and his family.  Enjoy and Share

Mama Helps the Baby Learn

Here is a wonderful video that shows just how much mothers are alike whether human or animals.  This little Polar Bear cub can not swim yet.  This polar bear family was living together.  Having fun. Learning new things. Growing up.  The little cub playing and romping just like baby children do.  And just like mothers do her mom is watching.  Watching her every move.  But staying just far enough away to let her make mistakes.  That is when it happens.  In a brief moment she fell into deep water. In that very instant the mom does what every mom would do and then you must watch to see what happens.  You expect her to grab her and pull the lttle cub right out of water.  But instead she is right there so nothing happens but allows the cub to save herself.  Would you, as a mother, jump in and just save your child or allow her to find her own way out of the mess she got herself into?  What a wonderful display of a relationship between a mother and her child.  Mother “Kurumi” & “Milk”(female/4month old) what great family.

89 year old Bridesmaid

What a great choice for a bridesmaid!!  When Pennsylvania bride Christine Quinn tied the knot in May she asked one of her best friends, “Nana Betty,” to be part of her big day. Quinn told BuzzFeed Life that choosing Nana Betty as a bridesmaid was an easy decision.
“Who doesn’t want her best friend standing beside her on her wedding day? Not to mention all of my friends love my Nana as well, so we all had a great time planning and spending time together,” she told BuzzFeed Life.  Nana Betty wasn’t immediately convinced her granddaughter actually wanted her in the wedding.
“She asked me about 10 times, ‘Are you sure?’ and ‘Why would you want an old lady in your bridal party?’” Quinn told the Huffington Post.  From the wedding photos taken by Sweetwater Photography, it is clear that Nana Betty fit right in with the bridal party.  “Spending the entire day with Nana by my side as I married the love of my life was all I could ask of her,” Quinn told BuzzFeed Life.   Nana Betty even joined the bridal party on the party bus.  What a great day for everyone.  Family is the most important part of a wedding.

What are your memories?

This is another one of those thought provoking commercials that we need to see.  Nature Valley used this time to ask 3 generations what memories they have of their childhood.  It is amazing to see the difference in each generation.  Nature has always been a part of growing up   If we do not take the time to show these young people they will miss the beauty of nature.  Whether nature is just going for a walk or growing something in the garden.  You must share and teach the next generation before it is forgotten. This is just a good reminder of what we all took for granted in our childhood.  Share with the young people in your lives.  Don’t be afraid to challenge them to do some of the things you did growing up.  They will appreciate it and will love you more for sharing it.  What are your memories?  Have you taught a young person something you learned when you were young.  Memories made together last longer.

He Will Care for Her Forever

What is love?   This video is all about love.  The love between a man and woman. Not just the physical attraction of two people loving each other when it is easy but to love each other when it is not.  He is dedicated to her through this horrible disease.  Alheimer’s can take her away mentally but it can’t change how he thinks and cares for her.  He spends every waking moment doing everything for her and he does not feel that it is a burden. No he says it is a privilege.  What a wonderful man.  This year they will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.  He will be there by her side even if she is not quite the person he married.  He takes his vows seriously. In sickness and in health.  He will care for her as long as he needs to.  He remembers how they used to love to ride bikes when they were young.  So he created a chair bike that would allow him to take her out and give her a ride.  What a joyous sight to watch them enjoy the time outside.  He is determined to care for her every need for as long as it takes.  She is his princess and he is her William. He said he would not have it any other way.  What a wonderful man.  Happy Anniversary you two.

Man Meets His Mom For The First Time

After decades of obituary searches, calls to strangers and cross-country trips in search of relatives, Charles Bruce Pate kissed his mother for the first time. He was 73, she 88.73 years ago, Pauline was an unwed mom forced to give up her baby boy, Charles. And for as long as he can remember Charles has been looking for the mother who had to give him away. He finally found her. Charles got to kiss is momma.  Sometimes people have to make changes that they don’t want to.  There are a lot of people out there who have had to make some difficult decisions in the past.  This mom had no choice back in 1941.  Pauline dressed him a blue shirt and cap  and gave him to his new mom and dad.   I am sure she thought of him many times over the years.  She probably thought that there was no way they would ever meet again. Last year they found each other.   Watch this one with tissues!

Community Helps Fallen Officer’s Family

On Friday, June 19, Cincinnati Police Officer Sonny Kim as shot on duty. By Monday afternoon, it seemed like two minutes didn’t pass without someone making a donation to Kim’s family. Some of the donors were from Cincinnati but other donations came from New York and as far away as Hawaii. “I’ve said when the chips are down Cincinnati steps up and we’ve certainly seen that. And I think it also speaks to the power of social media these days,” Bauman said. Bauman isn’t the only one stepping up. At Listermann Brewing Co., a dollar from every pint sold Thursday will be donated to the Kims. “It’s really not an if we can do something type of thing, it’s how we can do something type of thing,” said Jason Brewer, the sales manager at Listermann Brewing Co. Brewer said the owner’s son-in-law is a sheriff’s deputy who took karate lessons from Sonny Kim. Meanwhile, Derek Bauman said the generosity of the donations are touching but so are the messages people write for the family. “I will be forever grateful my thoughts and prayers are with your family. May the angels lead you in,” said Bauman as he read a message. As each hour passes, the number of donors and messages grows. “I wasn’t surprised because people care. And so this is an opportunity for them to show their support in our community, support for law enforcement and the Kim family and it’s amazing,” Bauman said. The Fraternal Order of Police set up an account for the Kims at the Cincinnati Police Credit Union. Go to  http://www.gofundme.com/sonnykim to check out the GoFundMe page. A neighbor of Sonny Kim’s who is a police officer wrote about him, his family and working as a police officer. Isn’t it wonderful when people step up in the time of tragedy.

92 year old adopts 76 year old as daughter

At age 92, Muriel Clayton is a mother again, having adopted the woman who’s been her “daughter” for more than six decades. Just not officially. Mary Smith, who’s now 76, knew Muriel as her fun older cousin as she was growing up, but family tragedy changed the dynamic. After he father passed away and her mother was ill and not able to care for her, Muriel took in Mary and she has been there ever since. ”I wanted her to be mine,” said Clayton.  She has always wanted to adopt her.  Out of respect, she wouldn’t adopt her until Smith’s biological mother, who had been ill for years, passed away.  June 9, inside Dallas County Court, they formally became mother and daughter. Now the record will show what Muriel Clayton has known in her heart all along. She has always known in her heart that they were mother and daughter but now it is official.  It is never too late to add to your family. What a beautiful family they make.

Couple Celebrates 70th Anniversary with Amazing Gifts

A Bakersfield couple just celebrated a huge milestone.  Richard and Mary Arambula celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.  Their family decided that for this special occasion they needed some greetings from some special people.  It all started with their granddaughter that was living in Germany at the time. She sent a letter to the Vatican and to the President of the United States.  When she got a response from both of them she thought maybe more celebrities would send a note.  She was so surprised to see that she received over 150 notes including one from each of the living presidents.  She had sent a request to Joan Rivers and unfortunately she died before she could send something so her publisist sent a broach and a shawl.  One of their favorites was a note from Tommy Lasorda and Steve Garvey as she is a huge Dodger fan.  They also received many local celebrities as well.  They never thougtht they would receive just a wonderful response.  It truly made this anniversary even more special.  Their marriage was so successsful as they said it was because “you need to learn to be tolerant of one another.” Congratulations Richard and Mary…, many more to come.
