Autistic Son Pulls Mom from Burning Car

Tyler Gianchetta knew something was terribly wrong. Tyler and his mom were in the car driving. They were going somewhere in Long Island New York when as they were talking his mother stopped speaking to him.  ”She didn’t answer me”, he said. He even asked her if she was ignoring him.  She started shaking and and then crashed into a tree.  He immedately pulled his mom out of the burning car as the car burst into flames.  Tyler broke his own hand in the process but definately saved his mother’s life.  Tyler has autism and has beaten the odds as an 18 year old college honor student.  His dad said that they have always shown Tyler how to be responsible and take care of others.  His mother has no memory of the crash and why she blacked out.  He doesn’t want to be called a hero.  He knows that he did what he had to do to save his mom at whatever cost to himself.  It is amazing what strength we find in ourselves when put in an emergency situation.  Way to go Tyler. You have grown up to be an amazing young man.  Your mom and dad should be proud.

Fire Rescue By Neighbors

Emergencies happen everyday.  We watcht them on the news often.  Firefighters are amazing to run into burning buildings and save people. Often they don’t think of themselves but only work hard to rescue anyone who is still in the fire.  Recently in Sandy Springs, Georgia there was a fire in an apartment complex.  The fire department was called and arrived quickly.  While they were checking out the fire two girls who were trapped in the fire came to 2nd story window. The two girls were trapped in their burning apartment when neighbors urged them to jump from a broken window. Watch as the two girls fall into their neighbors arms from a second story window. These neighbors risked their lives helping others.  How great was it that they were there to help.  I am sure those two girls think so.  The firefighters said they think it is human nature to help others.  I would like to think so.  I think it also takes a special spirit inside people to step up when they are needed. Thank you to these two men that they were there on this day.  You are amazing.

10 year old saves kids from fire

When a mobile home caught fire, 10 year old Isaiah Francis didn’t think about himself.  He only thought about the other children that were in harm’s way in the trailer. The children’s dad was trying to put water on the fire and the emergency responders had not arrived yet.  He was able to pull out a 1 and 2 year old.  Minutes later the Orange County Florida fire fighters were on the scene.  They went in while the mobile home was 75% engulfed at that time.  They were able to save two more children. What a brave young man!  It takes more than courage to rush into a fire like that, it takes some help from a few guardian angels.  How amazing that he was there at the right time and place. He is such an amazing young man.  You are our hero Isaiah. Do not put yourself in harm’s way but do answer when called upon.  Amazing people do amazing things.  Even young ones.

Friend helping friend – only 7 years old

Colin Cox and Ryan Branson are old friends.  Well, they have really only known each other for two years.   Colin spent some time as little boy with a dibilitating disease.  His mom thinks it made him more compassionate.  Colin came home from school and told his mom that his friend’s house burned down. He asked his mom to make a video to help Ryan’s family.  He had lost everything and he needed help.  So Colin made a video asking for help.  Thanks to his help they have already raised over $9000 to help Ryan’s family.  How beautiful to hear these little 7 year olds talk about what Colin did, “Because that is what friends do, they help each other.”  These two are like little “old souls”.  As they say to each other at the end of the video, “Your the best friend ever. What would I do without you”.  How awesome that these two boys can show us all the true meaning of friendship and how to help each other in hard times.  Colin, you are amazing and what a great friend you truly are. You are true example to all of us.

Cat wakes man and saves him from a fire

Here is another wonderful pet story.  Peta are more like family than animals and this one will always be.  This cat may be small but she is a big hero.  Sally rescued her owner by waking him up before it was too late.  Craig Jeeves was sleeping in his home in Autralia when Sally jumped on him making all kinds of racket and woke him up before the fire was too bad.  The fire department said it was good that Sally was there because without Sally Craig may not have got out alive.  Craig was treated on the scene and released.  He said he lost all of his photos and posessions but the cat saved his life.  He said that he had saved her from a shelter several years ago and now she has returned the favor.  Don’t you just wonder how our animals know what to do in times like these.  Aren’t you glad they do?  Way to go Sally.  You are our hero today.

Grandma Saves the Day

Rosemary was working at the customer service desk at Target when she heard a commotion going on outside.  She went out to investigate and found a van on fire. That is when this grandma of 5 went into action.  She notice the driver doors opening while the van was on fire.  He was not getting out. She knew that she needed to do somthing. She ran to the van and began pulling the disabled man out.  He was stuck but she didn’t give up.  Even when his jacket caught on fire she just kept pulling.  She was able to get him out of the van before it was too late.  If it hadn’t been for her he would not have survived this fire.  Rosemary ran in to help without concern for herself.  After it was all over she noticed that even though she has ailments that would keep her from doing this she was able to help.  She got him out without one burn or cut to herself.  She believes that this truly was deivne intervention.  she is a hero in the eyes of the other witnesses and in our eyes too.  Way to go Rosemary.

Culver’s Owner Takes Care of his Employees

Here is a story of a business who really cares.  The Culver’s Restaurant in Plattville, WI was struck down by fire on Nov. 16, 2013.  At that time the employees thought that they had just lost their jobs.  Bruce Kroll, the owner of this Culvers for over 19 years knows how important all his employees are to the company.  When the restaurant burns down he decided to continue to pay his employees while they rebuild.  He agreed to pay his employees for six months.  He only asked one thing while he did this.  That was for the employees to donate their time to the community while the place was being rebuilt. His insurance paid the employee payroll for 60 days. Kroll paid the remaining four months of paychecks, almost $144,000 out of his own pocket. Some employees even held a fundraiser for the local fire department raising $2000 and gave 100% to the fire department.  Bruce cares for his employees.  After the 6 months to the day they reopened and were all back together again to serve the community.  They did have another scare. Only 24 hours later a tornado came only 20 yards from the restaurant.  They had to close again for 24 hours to clean up but am back open again and hopefully this time for good.  We salute you Bruce for being the type of boss that everyone needs.

Mom Saves Son From Fire

This is not a story of bravery as much as it is a story of a mother’s love.  Thanks to Chris C. for bringing us this story.  Sometimes we think there is nothing we wouldn’t do for our kids.  You hope and pray that you never have to make the choice that this mom had to do recently.  Christina Simoes found herself in a terrible situation, a fire.  When she discovered there was no other choice Christina  took her son and jumped from her third floor apartment to escape the fire.  When she found the apartment was engulfed in flames she thought nothing about her safety and cradled her 18 month old son and leaped 30 feet to the ground.  When she landed on the ground she could not move and told her son Cameron to go get help.  She broke back in the fall and she is now paralized.  Doctors say she may never walk again but her son survived the fall with just a scratch.

Never ending is mother’s love.  She said once she reached the window she knew what she had to do.   This is an amazing story.  Remember how precious ever day is with your parents and kids.  You never know what tomorrow will bring.

15 Year Old Saves Horses from Burning Barn

Today’s post was brought to us by Davilyn F.  Thank you for bringing us this story.  So far it seems that this week our stories are all about young heroes.  This story is from a while ago.  It is a story of 15 year old Madison Wallraf who loves horses.   One day the barn that holds the horses caught fire.  Disregarding the warning from her grandfather, she runs into the burning barn many times to release the horses from their stalls and to lead them to safety.  The smoke was so bad at one point that she had to crawl into the barn to get to the horses.  She was able to save many with no regard to her own safety.  Running into a burning building in hopes of saving someone  or something is hard.  Imagine the courage it takes to return to the smoke and flames time and time again to save more.  She did everything she could.  What an amazing young woman.

Have you seen a great story that you would like us to share?  Please send me a private message or email me at alittlegoodnewsmail@gmail.com. We all need A Little Good News each day.

Mailman Hero Saves House From Burning Down, Then Finishes His Route!!

Have you ever thought of your mailman as a hero?  Recently, I’ve seen a number of different stories where a mailman has saved a life in various situations.  In each case, the mailman just “happened” to be in the right place at the right time………and then, he also just happened to care enough to step out of his normal duties and save a life.  In a couple of cases recently (although they were articles and not videos), I read how a mailman (two different carriers in two different parts of the U.S.) helped save the life of someone who had had a heart attack.  Today’s story is about a mailman that came across a home on his route that had caught fire.  Our hero mailman, hooked up the hose out front and walked into the house and began putting out the flames.  He kept at it until the fire department arrived. When he saw them, using much better equipment start getting the last few spots to stop it completely, this mailman went back outside and just went about his business in finishing up his mail route.  He didn’t wait to see how it would end up.  He knew it would be a happy ending because he had gotten most of it and the “real pros” were there now.  I didn’t even mention that there was a woman inside who didn’t know what to do.  He literally came at JUST at the right time.  Not only do I love how he saved the day, but to then go about his business, as if it didn’t happen??  That makes me admire this mailman even more!!  Just one more “every day hero”!!  Keep letting us know of others that you come across!!!  Thanks!!

Have a GREAT day…by making it a great day for someone else!!!
