Restaurant Worker Helping Anyway He Can

Ridge Quarles, who works at a Qdoba in Louisville, Kentucky, had gotten to know a customer with disabilities who visits the restaurant whenever she can.  She would come to the restaurant being dropped 0ff  by the bus.  Sometimes she would have to wait outside the restaurant until another customer would come in and let her in.  Ridge notices when she comes in even knowing what she likes to eat and preparing it before she even makes her order.  Most workers would fill the order and that is all.  Not Ridge.  He makes sure she gets her food to her seat and helping her get all set up for her meal.  On this day another customer notices that Ridge not only helped her to her seat, he even took the time to help her eat by feeding her the meal.  What an amazing employee this company has.  What an amazing young man he is.  Caring enough to take his time and to help this person he hardly knows.  How inspiring.  If only more people would care for others in this way.   We salute you young man.  You are our hero.  Thank you for being who you are.  We can all take a lesson from you.

Neighbor Stops Speeding Motorcycle

In a small Oklahoma town stands a hero.  Chickasha resident Floyd Briggs was outside when he heard a speeding motorcycle darting through the neighborhood.  Floyd said to himself, “I gotta stop this guy before he hurts a little kid”.  That is when he sprang into action.  Floyd didn’t grab a vehicle to chase him down.  No, Floyd just stood his ground in the middle of the road risking his own safety to save someone else.  When the man, Michael Coppedge, saw him he swerved to miss him and lost control of his bike sending him sliding across the road.  Briggs started to chase him as Coppedge ran to get away.  Floyd didn’t catch him but instead chased him right into the arms of Chickasha Police.  There was one thing that Floyd wanted to say after the chase was over.  ”I did use some language that just isn’t how I talk… some of the words I used, I was pretty worked up and I am sorry for that”.  What an amazing act of courage and then a humble apology for his language.  We are proud of you Floyd.  Thanks for being such a good neighbor.

Aldi Worker Helps Elderly

Here is a story of an employee seeing a need and meeting it.  Christian is a worker at Aldi grocery store in the United Kingdom.  Working there he noticed a few customers that needed a little more help than others.  Checking with his manager he got permission to help this elderly man.  The man was afraid to go home alone due to the weather outside. Christian carried the man’s groceries and walked him home.  What a wonderful gesture for this young man to do for his client.  How many of us would have dropped what we were doing and walked a stranger to his home.  This is the kind of thing we should all do without regards to our own time.  Helping others in any way possible.  Way to go Christian. You are a great employee and a wonderful person.

Restores your faith in humanity

Somedays we need to see something that just makes us feel better.  You look around and there is no humanity.  People rush around.  Noone is caring for anyone.  Then you see a wonderful little video like this one.  Here are some new video clips of people helping animals out of some pretty tough spots.  This video really restores your faith in humanity.  There is even a clip at the end of clip.  People helping out when needed.  Starting with a dog on a floating iceberg.  Swimming out to save a dog.  Risking their own lives to save the creatures of the world.  Such kindness is beyond measure.  What an amazing group of people who risk everything to save others.  Beautiful and sweet.  I love these type of videos.   Thank you to all of you who do take a risk to rescue others in danger.

Girls get food instead of presents

Gabbie and Alice are good friends.  They love to help others.  They had a birthday coming and decided to have a joint birthday party.  They decided to help out the food pantry at school.  So instead of asking for presents they asked people to bring food for their school food pantry.  In the past they have helped out at homeless shelter and at the animal shelter.  They are really amazing kids.  They raised $20,000 in donations not counting the food  they have raised.  By being on Ellen the Shutterfly company added another $20,000 to the fund. How wonderful these two little girls are to care about others.  It is so awesome to watch how much these little girls care about others.  What could we do to be like these little girls to help others.  To their parents, you have done a great job with these little girls.  They are amazing.

FREE Groceries

What a great way to treat people.  This is a great video put on by some company that helped this man and his kids to provide free groceries to a few deserving families. It is wonderful to watch the families once the find out that they are getting free groceries.  We don’t know their stories.  We don’t know why they need the free groceries.  We don’t need to know.  You just have to look at the joy on their faces to know that they appreciate the gift they receive.  Sometimes it is just about giving. Not giving because they deserve it or even need it.  Just giving to give.  It is a gift to you as much as the one you give to. Thanks to everyone who gives to others without expecting anything in return.  During this video you see the man who arranged the gift never speak up or even let anyone know that he is involved.  Giving without calling attention to him or his kids.  What a fun thing to do.  AND what a great lesson for his kids. Good job.

24 Incredible Acts of Kindness

This is a list of acts of kindess.  Some of these you may have seen before.  I know we have used some of these in our stories in the past.  Many are simple things that anyone could do.  These are meant to inspire you to take these opportunities as they come to your life and do a little something for others.  Inspirations to care for others are alway a helpful tool.  We all have a kind heart and a willingness.  Sometimes we just need a little inspiration.  I would love to hear what kinds of things you have witnesses or what kind things you have had the opportunity to do.  Go to our Facebook page and send us a message or post the random acts of kindess you have seen or done.  Lets see if we can create our own page of kindness.  Which ones are your favorites?  This is a list of 24.  Let’s see if we can make a list of 100.  Post these and and pass it on.  Let’s make this a month of kindness to others.  After all that is what Christmas is all about.

Sharing with Others

Here is a video experiment.  This group sent a guy out and asked people for food.  It was an experiment to find out if people would give up their food to others in need.  First he gets no help.  He moves to the next person and again asks for help telling the person that he is hungry… in need.  Once again, he gets turned away.  The experiment moves on to another direction.  They walk up to a homeless man and offer him their leftovers.  He is so greatful and excited that they gave him their leftovers.  The next step was another man who came by and told him that he was hungry.  The homelesss man without hesitation agrees to sharing his food with the stranger.  He thanks him and after eating his pizza, he gets up and gives him some money to thank him for his generosity.  He is so touched that he can’t hold back the tears.   My favorite part of the video is the saying at the end.   ” The things we give to people can make a life .  Never look down on anybody unless you are helping them up. ”  At this time of year it is good for us to take some time and think of others.  Make sure if you can reach out to theres this holiday season.

One stitch closer- The Empowerment Plan

Here is an amazing story of a woman named Veronika Scott.  She is 24 years old and is the CEO and founder of The Empowerment Plan in Detroit.  She grew up as a child of addicts.  Growing up unsure of her future sh received a scholarship to go to college.  While she was in a class the teacher presented the class with an assignment to design something that will fill actual needs. She did her research at homeless shelters.  After many prototypes she created a coat that was a coat during the day but would open up and had a pocket at the bottom that you could slip your feet in and velcro shut like a sleeping bag.  This seemed like a solution until one day when a lady came out of the shelter (as she was there getting feedback on the coat) and came out yelling at the “We don’t need coats.  Coats are pointless.  We need jobs”.  she was right.  The coat was just a bandaid.  She began hiring only people from the homeless shelter and training them to be independent.  What an amazing idea.  She is empowering them to do anything they want.  Way to go Veronika.  You are our hero.  Thanks to Patricia M for suggesting this story.

Will you create the ripple?

Today’s video is not news. Sometimes these great “little movies” are so moving and touching that I like to share them because the message is a great one.  Here is a story created in a distant land but this story could be happening in your hometown. It again shows us that we need to watch for those little opportunities that come upon us and allow us to “create a ripple”.  Years ago someone started a ripple by “paying it forward”.  People everyday do it again by buying someones coffee or buying diapers for a mom who doesn’t have enough money or buying the meal of the folks at the drive-in behind your car.  These little efforts touch the people around us so much.  Those small acts can be the act that touches someone to return the favor to someone else.  What if everyone saw a need and acted?  What would it take for you to act? I know when the time comes you will step up for that need for someone else.  Let’s do it today…. let’s create the ripple!!
