Twin Brothers Find Each Other after 70 Years

I first need to warn you that this video today is very long.  The good news is you can get the majority of the story in just the first few minutes.  It is a great story that is worth the time to watch the entire story but if you don’t the best part (the reunion) is just a few minutes in.  Now for the story. This is a great story of two men who were born brothers but were separated at birth.  They did not even know that they were brothers let alone that they were twins.  They were removed from their mother when she was sent a labor camp in Germany.  They were adopted by two different families.  One brother only learned he was adopted when he went into the army. They knew that one day they would find each other.  They made arrangements to meet each other in Poland.  Once they met they spoke that they will not look back that the past is the past and they needed to look forward  and get to know each other.  The Red Cross helped then find each other and found information about their father in a museum – that he was an American soldier.  They found that by error the children were sent to Poland without their mother being notified.  So she didn’t give them up but that they were removed.  Now they have found each other and that is all that matters. How wonderful for these two men to find each other.

Twins Separated at Birth Reunited on Facebook

Samantha Futerman who lives in Los Angeles woke up one morning to a Facebook post from someone who said they saw her on You Tube. The messenger said that she looks a lot like her and after doing some research discovered that they were both born in town (Busan, South Korea) and on the same day.  After learning they were both adopted Anais, a French fashion Designer agreed to meet on Skype.  Once they saw each other it was clear that they were not only sisters but twin sisters that had been separated at birth.  They chatted for over three hours and agreed to meet.  They met in London and then again in LA.  They decided to be certain they would do a DNA test.  As expected their DNA matched.  Samantha admited to her sister that when she was little she had an imaginary friend she called Anne.  They even took a trip together back to Korea.  How amazing that these two could be worlds apart but find each other on social media and reconnect via Facebook.  Now after being apart for 30 years they have one thing for sure.  They have an entire future to spend together.  They have now createda full-length documentary to share their touching story of being separated at birth, abandoned, adopted and later reunited.  If you are interested in their story you can check out their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/twinstersmovie

Biathlete Sacrifices Olympics For Her Twin

There is something special about twins. There is a bond between twins that others will never understand.  Twins have a connection that others don’t have.  They look out for each other and care for each other.  I should know…I AM a twin.  And I love it!!  But, the sacrifice of a twin in today’s ALGN post is even more amazing than most.  It truly is an incredible story.  The video doesn’t tell the whole story that I found online (thanks to Mindy C.).  Apparently, when it was confirmed that biathlete Tracy Barnes made the Winter Olympic team, she turned to her twin sister, Lanny and smiled and winked.  Lanny assumed that this meant that her (Lanny’s) Olympic dreams were over, but that Tracy would “race for her” at the Olympics.  Lanny was already a three-time Olympian.  She knew how it works.  They don’t care that the reason she didn’t perform well enough to make the cut for the Olympics was that she was very sick.  However, her twin, Tracy, had other ideas.  Later, on a walk, Tracy told her twin (Lanny) that Tracy was going to decline her invitation that she earned for the Olympics.  By so doing, the Olympic Committee would extend its invitation to the biathlete who finished with the next highest score.  That biathlete just happened to be Tracy’s twin, Lanny.  Lanny was BLOWN away.  She really wanted to make it for a fourth time, but got very sick during the trials and the best she could do this time around was to barely  miss the cut to her twin.  But, that twin knew that Lanny wanted it (and deserved it) more than her.  So, Tracy decided that Lanny should go in her stead.  WOW…now THAT is an AMAZING twin sister!!!  Oh, and one more thing…..GO, USA WINTER OLYMPIC TEAM, GO!!!
